FIDELIO
This was definitely the most fun I've had in making a painting. A multi-medium (acrylic, markers) on canvas... I decided to go all out on the surreal-abstract vibe. The main message (if you can call it that) about this painting is in reference to the movie "Eyes Wide Shut" the movie tackles many topics, but one that stuck out to me is the debauchery of the ultra rich. That is what is represented in this painting.
Silence over the Shallow Sea
I wanted to do something different from the cubistic style that I had continuously done, so I decided to do something more "normal" I added slight elements of abstract style in the painting... like the use of green around the hair, which was inspired by the movie Vertigo. Overall this was definitely the most difficult piece I've made because I couldn't really exercise much creativity over this the way I could with other paintings.
Self Portrait 4, Son of Adam
This one was very spontaneous. I did no planning for this piece. I decided to flood this painting with symbolism. The snake like face on the left and the apple that is falling down from the table are both references to the adam and eve story, the rough background and light bulb and bent table also symbolize different things... I get a very old testament feel from this one I don't know why
Self Portait 3, Your Loyalty is not to me but to the stars above.
I decided to go all out with the geometry-cubism-vibe over here as you can see... I went all out with the complications in the face and the expressions. Had a tremendous amount of fun and experimentation with this one. Also this one was very very very difficult and took a lot of time and planning to accomplish. I gifted this to my cousin sister who had come to visit.
Self Portrait 2, Kaleidoscopic Vision
This piece was markers on canvas... I experimented with colours quite a lot with this one, and I decided to put the whole focus on the subject and decided not to include a background. I also went deeper into the cubistic, abstract style. This was mainly inspired from my own personal migraines... I had a problem when I was younger when I used to get terrible headaches and I used to see a lot of blinking colours... Turns out it is called "Kaleidoscopic Vision" thankfully I haven't got one of those migraines in a long long time.
Self Portrait 1, Among the Swine
This painting is acrylic on canvas, it is my first experiment with cubism... I was really getting into that Picasso style when I made this painting... I had a lot of fun with this one and I experimented quite a lot with this piece. Especially the background and the colours on the subjects.
The View From My Bedroom
This painting is Acrylic on canvas. Ok, so this is technically the first painting I have done. Sometime in October? of 2023... I had a lot of fun doing this one... I really like artists like Vincent Van Gogh and Claude Monet, therefore I wanted to do a piece similar to that... I am sure you can see the heavy influence of post impressionism on this painting. Another thing about this painting is that a lot of calculations went into it... I wanted the window to be in the main frame and the visibility of the bed and also the book stand and table on the sides... I wanted the floor to take up more room than the space above the window and other details like that...
